                          Attorney Kent Meyerhoff

                          Kent Meyerhoff grew up on a farm near Palmer, Kansas. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Wichita State University, graduating magna cum laude, in 1991, and his Juris Doctor, with distinction, from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1994.

                          While at the University of Nebraska, Mr. Meyerhoff was executive editor of the Nebraska Law Review, and authored Regulatory Takings—Winds of Change Blow Along the South Carolina Coast: Lucas v. South Carolina Coastal Council112 S. Ct. 2886(1992), 72 Neb. L. Rev. 627 (1993). He was elected to the Nebraska chapter of the Order of the Coif, a national honor society consisting of approximately ten percent of the highest ranking law students in each graduating class. Mr. Meyerhoff was admitted to the Kansas bar and joined Fleeson, Gooing, Coulson & Kitch in 1994. He is currently a member of the firm's Executive Committee and serves as head of the Trusts and Estates Practice Group.

                          Mr. Meyerhoff’s practice is devoted to Estate Planning (including drafting of wills, trusts and related documents); Business Succession Planning; Trust Administration and Probate; Guardianships and Conservatorships; Trademark and Copyright Law; and Business Law. He is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America in the areas of Copyright Law, Elder Law, Trademark Law and Trusts and Estates, and in Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyers in the area of Estate Planning and Probate.  Based on ratings by his peers, Mr. Meyerhoff has been named Wichita Lawyer of the Year in his practice areas four times by Best Lawyers (Elder Law – 2014, 2016 and 2020; Trusts and Estates – 2015).

                          Mr. Meyerhoff is a Fellow of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He is also an active member of the Wichita and Kansas Bar Associations. He is President of the KBA’s Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section and serves on the Executive Committees of that section. He is a member of the Kansas Judicial Council's Probate Law Advisory Committee, the Wichita Bar Association Probate Committee, the Building Management Committee for the Sedgwick County Law Center, and the board of directors of the Wichita Bar Foundation.

                          Mr. Meyerhoff has made numerous presentations to community and professional groups and is co-author of chapters in three Kansas Bar Association professional handbooks: Kansas Probate & Trust Administration After Death, Kansas Basic Will and Trust Drafting, and Kansas Corporation Law & Practice. Mr. Meyerhoff also serves as a Judge Pro Tem for the Sedgwick County District Court, Probate Department. He was a member of the 2001 Leadership Wichita class and was selected by the Wichita Business Journal as one of its 40 Under 40 honorees in 2003.

                          Mr. Meyerhoff is active in a variety of community organizations and activities. He is a member of the Wichita Estate Planning Council and the Wichita Estate Planning Forum.  He previously has served on the Board of Directors for the Center for Health and Wellness, Inc. (now HealthCore Clinic, Inc.), Childstart, Inc., Home Technology Solutions, Inc., and the Arts Council, Inc.

                          Mr. Meyerhoff and his wife, Michelle, have been married for 30 years and have two sons.
