                          Wednesday, July 1 2020 10:36 PM

Charles Cole, a member of Fleeson Gooing for over 20 years, has announced his retirement effective July 1, capping a legal career that spanned 47 years.

Charley’s career path started out in unique fashion, as he earned a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 1970. He went on to attend the University of Oklahoma Law School, serving as Case Note Editor for the Oklahoma Law Review. He received his Juris Doctor degree in 1973.

Upon graduation, Charley moved to Wichita, where he began his practice with the firm of Foulston, Siefkin, Powers & Eberhardt. He later became a partner in the firm of Martin, Churchill, Overman, Hill and Cole. He joined Fleeson Gooing in 2000.

Charley was one of the most highly respected estate planning attorneys in the state. He was a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel as well as being recognized for many years in The Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers for Missouri and Kansas. His professional acumen was exceeded only by the mark he made as a kind and caring counsel to his clients and a true colleague to his law partners.

The firm will miss Charley greatly and wishes him and his wife Janice the best as they explore this new chapter of life.
